The Hand It Off Checklist:
what to outsource first.
You can't grow a business while you're still the marketing team, the tech team and the talent. Here's what to hand off first, and what only you should do.
1
Only you should do these
Showing up on camera, voice notes, live events, client results, final approval and your big strategic decisions. That's it. Everything else can be handed off.
Do this: Block time in your diary for these, and protect it.
2
Hand off first: editing
Video editing and post design eat hours and need zero of your expertise.
Do this: Batch film once a month and send it all to an editor or use AI to edit.
3
Hand off first: scheduling and posting
You shouldn't be the one pressing publish every day.
Do this: Have someone schedule a full month of content at a time.
4
Hand off next: email marketing
Your emails should go out every week, whether you're busy or not.
Do this: Give someone your voice notes and stories and let them turn them into emails.
5
Hand off next: funnel building
Building pages, checkouts and automations is a job for someone who does it every day.
Do this: Write a one-page brief of what you're selling and to whom, then hand it over.
6
Hand off next: tech and admin
Integrations, tagging, broken links, access issues. None of it needs you.
Do this: Create a shared login doc and give your team access.
7
Hand off last: strategy support
Strategy is the last thing to hand off, but you shouldn't be doing it alone.
Do this: Get a strategist or mentor to pressure-test your plan every quarter.
8
How to hand it off well
Most hand-offs fail because of bad briefs, not bad people. Record a quick video of how you do the task, write down what good looks like, and agree a deadline.
Do this: Pick one task from this list and hand it off this week.
